WHERE EVERYTHING STARTS

THE BEGINNING

If every body is different, why should all saddles be the same?

Ginger was born over 4 years ago out of a necessity: to reduce prostate discomfort while cycling. Why accept that experiencing pain after cycling for more than 3 hours was normal?

Bru Riera, naval engineer and a cycling enthusiast, decided to address these discomforts.

''I experienced severe prostate pain while cycling, and sometimes it lasted for days afterward. It was very uncomfortable."

"I experienced severe prostate pain while cycling, and sometimes it lasted for days afterward. It was very uncomfortable," declares Ginger's founder. For Bru, the pain stemmed from his prostate. Short rides didn't cause pain, but during longer hours on the bike, discomfort in the prostate area increased. The prostate area is sensitive, and cycling directly pressures it.

As such, prostate pain and other urological conditions are common among cyclists and can worsen with age. According to experts, there is no evidence that cycling increases PSA (Prostate-Specific Antigen) levels or related conditions. However, it's important to seek solutions such as changing the saddle or adjusting the biomechanical position when experiencing localized pain while cycling.

If no saddles met this need, why not invent our own?

Recognizing this opportunity, Ginger was born with a clear vision: To develop all bike components that directly interact with the cyclist to prevent discomfort and enhance performance.

The first product launched after years of development was the PRNT 3D printed saddle. Made with a carbon fiber base using 3D printing technology, it is currently the lightest 3D printed saddle on the market, weighing only 105 grams.

The philosophy behind this saddle, and subsequent products developed thereafter, focuses on eliminating pressure in inappropriate areas and distributing weight more effectively for increased comfort and performance. In Ginger saddles, all pressure and weight from the cyclist are shifted to the ischial tuberosity area, relieving the front (pelvic floor) from unnecessary pressure.
